The Jamia Internal Cricket Tournament 2026, jointly organised by the Jamia Alumni Association UK and the Jamia Cricketers Association UK, brought together alumni, former students, and friends of Jamia for an unforgettable day of competitive cricket, brotherhood, and reunion on Monday, 22 June 2026, at Seven Kings Park Cricket Ground, Ilford.
While Team Blue lifted the championship trophy and Team Green finished as worthy runners-up, the tournament also showcased a number of outstanding individual performances. At the conclusion of the competition, special awards were presented to players whose contributions stood out across batting, bowling, fielding, and all-round excellence.
🏆 Player of the Tournament
Hasan Ovi (Team Blue)
Hasan Ovi was deservedly named Player of the Tournament following a remarkable all-round performance. He scored 123 runs and claimed 8 wickets, including outstanding bowling figures of 4 wickets for 21 runs. His consistent contributions with both bat and ball played a vital role in Team Blue’s journey to becoming tournament champions.
🏏 Best Batsman of the Tournament
Azharul Islam Adnan (Team Green)
Team Green’s Azharul Islam Adnan received the Best Batsman of the Tournament award after finishing as the competition’s highest run-scorer. He amassed 131 runs in just three innings, including a highest score of 54 not out, demonstrating consistency and composure throughout the tournament and playing a key role in Team Green’s runners-up finish.
🎯 Best Bowler of the Tournament
Hasan Ovi (Team Blue)
Adding to his impressive list of achievements, Hasan Ovi also claimed the Best Bowler of the Tournament award. His 8 wickets, including a superb spell of 4 for 21, made him the tournament’s most successful bowler and one of the standout performers of the day.
🧤 Best Fielder of the Tournament
Afzal Hussain Azaz (Team Blue)
The Best Fielder of the Tournament award went to Afzal Hussain Azaz of Team Blue. His safe hands and excellent awareness in the field saw him take seven catches, making a significant contribution to Team Blue’s successful campaign.
⭐ Player of the Final
Shahriar Hussain (Team Blue)
The Player of the Final award was presented to Shahriar Hussain for his match-winning contribution in the championship match. He scored a valuable 28 runs and then claimed 1 wicket for 11 runs, producing an outstanding all-round performance to help Team Blue secure a thrilling five-run victory over Team Green.
