Jamia Alumni Mourn the Loss of Brother Nurul Islam (Rahimahullah) (Batch of 1987)

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of our beloved brother fellow Alumnus Jamian 1987, brother Nurul Islam (Rahimahullah), who returned to Allah SWT around 3 pm today (Friday, 13 December 2024).

Some of Jamians – Ameer Khasru (Batch of 1990), Monzur Haque (Batch of 2000) and Sany (Batch of 2015) – had the honour of meeting him at the hospital during his illness on 19 October 2025. Despite facing ongoing health challenges, his remarkable resilience and unwavering dedication were evident. Even in his hospital bed, he hosted a feast for us, demonstrating his generosity and steadfast spirit. His wisdom, strategic thinking, and commitment to Jamia’s development were truly inspiring. His mental clarity and determination remained strong, even as his physical health declined.

O Allah, forgive him, raise his rank among the guided, take care of his family and loved ones, forgive us and him, expand his grave, and illuminate it for him.

Please remember him, his family and all the Ummah in your duas.

Thank you to our Jamian brothers, Dr Ali Ahmed-Shuaib and Shabbir Kawsar, for sharing these sorrowful details with us. May Allah SWT reward our brothers for keeping us informed and grant us all strength during this difficult time!
