On 17 February 2025, Shahjalal Jamia Islamia School & College, Sylhet warmly welcomed a delegation of 30 teachers and students from London Enterprise Academy, UK, as part of their study tour to Bangladesh.

The visiting team explored Jamia’s campus and classrooms, interacted with students and teachers, and gained first-hand experience of the institution’s academic environment and culture. The guests also held a cordial meeting with the Principal, praising Jamia’s disciplined and inclusive learning atmosphere.

This special visit was coordinated and led by Mr. Muhi Mikdad, Careers Manager at London East Academy and proud alumnus of Jamia’s 2007 Batch. It was an emotional return for him – revisiting the very school where his educational journey began.

Reflecting on the visit, Muhi shared:

“It was truly special to return to the school of my childhood – this time with our students and teachers from London. We attended the school assembly, received a warm welcome from Jamia Scouts and staff, and participated in an engaging exchange session between Jamia and London Enterprise Academy students. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”

The visit concluded with an invitation from the London team for Jamia’s students and teachers to visit their institutions in the UK in future exchange programmes – strengthening the bridge of friendship and educational collaboration between Sylhet and London.
