A proud moment for the Shahjalal Jamia Islamia School and College community, as two of its distinguished alumni have been elected to key leadership positions in the Bangladesh Private Hospital Clinic and Diagnostic Association (BPHCDA), Sylhet District Branch.
Dr Md Fazlul Haque Shuhel (Batch 1996), Medical Director of Pioneer Hospital, Sylhet, has been elected Senior Vice-President, while Imtiaz Md Tahmeem Subhan Babu (Batch 2000), Finance Director of Pioneer Hospital, has been elected Joint General Secretary of the newly formed 21-member district committee.
The announcement was made during a general meeting chaired by the association’s central president, Dr Mosaddeq Hossain Biswas, on 7 October. The new district leadership team will be headed by Dr Nurul Hasan Siddique (President, Oasis Hospital) and Dr Ahmad Nafi (General Secretary, Queen’s Hospital).
This recognition reflects the continued professional excellence, leadership, and community service of Jamia alumni in Bangladesh’s medical and healthcare sector. Both Dr Shuhel and Babu have contributed significantly to Pioneer Hospital’s reputation as one of Sylhet’s trusted healthcare institutions, promoting patient-centred care, innovation, and ethical medical practice.
