One of the most significant milestones in the journey towards establishing a formal Shahjalal Jamia Islamia Alumni Association UK was a small but deeply impactful gathering held on 16 October 2023 (১৬ অক্টোবর ২০২৩) at the London office of respected Jamian Abdus Samad Shobu (Batch 1991). His generous gesture in offering the venue – Supporting Care Ltd, 19 Morris Road, London E14 6FD – created the perfect setting for meaningful conversations that would lay the groundwork for the UK-wide alumni movement.

Jamians from 1985 to 2005 (১৯৮৫ – ২০০৫), with one or two representatives from each batch, came forward to attend this informal meeting. Despite its modest scale, the gathering reflected unity, brotherhood and the desire to reconnect with the values and memories of our beloved institution, Shahjalal Jamia Islamia School & College.

During this memorable meeting, Ameer Khasru (Batch 1991) was unanimously selected as the UK Alumni Coordinator, recognising his vision, dedication, and passion for bringing Jamians together under a structured platform. A group of committed volunteers also stepped forward to support him, forming the first coordinated team working towards a formal alumni body in the UK.

Addendum: 24 November 2025
This small get-together became a turning point. It inspired wider engagement, led to larger events, and eventually evolved into the structured alumni network we witness today. What started as a simple meeting of hearts, ideas and hopes has now grown into a thriving community of Jamians united across the UK.
