The Jamia Alumni Network is delighted to share that two of our Jamians have taken on key leadership roles in the newly formed Midweek Community Cricket League (MCCL) in the United Kingdom, a community-driven initiative bringing together cricket enthusiasts, particularly from the Bangladeshi community.
Md Hasan Abdullah (Jamia 2003 Batch) has been appointed as a Management Committee Member and Treasurer. Expressing his gratitude, he shared that he is honoured by the trust placed in him and is committed to contributing positively, working collaboratively to help build a strong and successful cricket league.
Alongside him, Ishtiaqur Rahman (Jamia 2002 Batch) has also been appointed as a Management Committee Member, taking responsibility for Media and Technology. His role will be vital in shaping the league’s communication, digital presence, and engagement with the wider community.
The MCCL has officially announced the formation of its Management Committee and Advisory Panel, bringing together experienced and dedicated individuals to drive the league forward. The first meeting of the committee took place on 1 April 2026 at TANISHQ Restaurant and Bar, where key discussions were held on the league’s structure, future plans, and operational direction.
This is yet another example of how Jamians are actively contributing to community development, not only in professional fields but also in sports, leadership, and grassroots initiatives. Their involvement will play a key role in strengthening community bonds and promoting positive engagement through cricket.

কমিউনিটি ক্রিকেটে জামিয়ানদের নেতৃত্ব, MCCL-এ নতুন দায়িত্ব
জামেয়া অ্যালামনাই নেটওয়ার্ক আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছে যে, যুক্তরাজ্যভিত্তিক Midweek Community Cricket League (MCCL)–এর নতুন কমিটিতে আমাদের দুইজন জামিয়ান গুরুত্বপূর্ণ দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছেন। এই লিগটি একটি কমিউনিটি-ভিত্তিক উদ্যোগ, যা বিশেষ করে প্রবাসী বাংলাদেশি ও ক্রিকেটপ্রেমীদের একত্রিত করার লক্ষ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠিত।
মোঃ হাসান আব্দুল্লাহ (জামেয়া ২০০৩ ব্যাচ) ম্যানেজমেন্ট কমিটির সদস্য ও ট্রেজারার হিসেবে দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেছেন। তিনি এই দায়িত্ব পাওয়ায় কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করে জানিয়েছেন যে, তিনি সর্বোচ্চ আন্তরিকতা ও দলগত প্রচেষ্টার মাধ্যমে লিগকে সফল ও শক্তিশালী করতে কাজ করবেন ইনশাআল্লাহ।
অন্যদিকে, ইশতিয়াকুর রহমান (জামেয়া ২০০২ ব্যাচ) ম্যানেজমেন্ট কমিটির সদস্য হিসেবে মিডিয়া ও টেকনোলজি বিভাগের দায়িত্ব পেয়েছেন। তাঁর এই ভূমিকা লিগের প্রচার, ডিজিটাল উপস্থিতি এবং কমিউনিটির সঙ্গে সংযোগ জোরদারে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।
MCCL ইতোমধ্যে তাদের ম্যানেজমেন্ট কমিটি ও অ্যাডভাইজরি প্যানেল আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ঘোষণা করেছে, যেখানে অভিজ্ঞ ও প্রতিশ্রুতিশীল ব্যক্তিদের সমন্বয়ে একটি শক্তিশালী দল গঠন করা হয়েছে। এই কমিটির প্রথম সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয় ১ এপ্রিল ২০২৬ তারিখে, TANISHQ Restaurant and Bar–এ, যেখানে লিগের ভবিষ্যৎ পরিকল্পনা, কাঠামো এবং কার্যক্রম নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা হয়।
এই অর্জন আবারও প্রমাণ করে যে জামিয়ানরা শুধু পেশাগত ক্ষেত্রেই নয়, বরং খেলাধুলা, নেতৃত্ব ও কমিউনিটি উন্নয়নেও সক্রিয় ভূমিকা রেখে চলেছেন।
