The Jamian Directory showcases the professions, skills and achievements of Jamians across the world. Organised by sector, it enables us to connect with one another, discover fellow Jamians in different fields, and most importantly, seek help, guidance and support from our own Alumni community.
This directory strengthens unity, collaboration and the spirit of serving one another as Jamians.
- Sheikh Hafiz Sayed Maksud Elahi Sabir (1993) – MSc in Corporate Governance, Ijazaat in the 10 Qira’aat of Qur’an.

- Ijāzah in the Qirā’ah of ‘Āsim from Sheikh Shoieb, dean of Imām Jazarī Institute, as well as Ijāzah in the Riwāyah of Warsh from Sheikh Ayad.
- Syed Maqsud-E-Elahi sabir pursued his alimiyyah studies in abroad & here in UK before completion of memorising the whole quran. After obtaining ijazah from 2 different chains in qiraah A’asim & riwayah Warsh, he completed ashara qiraat (10 modes of recitation). He also completed M.Sc in Corporate Governance from London Southbank University. Currently he is the head of quranic studies at Lewisham Islamic Institute. He has been appointed as an imam at Lewisham Islamic Centre since 2010.
- Sheikh Maqsud has been leading Tarawih in many Masājid within the UK as well as abroad and has been pivotal in exposing the Bangladeshi community to different Qirā’ah and its related sciences.
